PaymentVision 5.9.1 is now available in production. The purpose of this release is to make 2 changes to Email Notifications (Display Name, Email Unsubscribe Link).
Email Notifications
Email Notifications are an existing feature that enables clients to send payment-related emails (e.g.; payment confirmations, intent to deposit notifications, varying amount transfer notifications) based on rules configured within the PaymentVision Portal, as shown within the screen shot below.
Display Name
Display Name is a field within the email header. When populated, it is what an email recipient sees in the From field within their inbox. When not populated, the From field defaults to the From Address.
BEFORE
Prior to this release, Email Notifications were sent without a Display Name and, as a result, email recipients would see the From email address within their inbox. The following screen shot provides an example of how an Email Notification appeared within an inbox prior to this release.
AFTER
Now, as part of this release, Email Notifications will be sent with a Display Name and, as a result, email recipients will see the Display Name in the From field within their inbox as shown within the screen shot below. The following screen shot provides an example of how an Email Notification will now appear within an inbox as part of this release.
REASON FOR CHANGE
The reason for the change is to help customers to more easily recognize the sender of Email Notifications.
KNOWN ISSUE
When an Email Notification rule sender is set to an email address within the Address Book and the display name associated with the email address is later changed, it will prevent the rule from sending Email Notifications unless the Email Notification rule is re-saved. We plan to resolve this issue as part of a future release.
Email Unsubscribe Link
Email Unsubscribe Link is a new feature that will add an unsubscribe link to the bottom of all emails, as shown within the screen shot below. When an email recipient clicks the link, all subsequent Email Notifications sent to that recipient will be blocked.
REASON FOR CHANGE
The reason for the change is to help Debt Collectors comply with the reasonable-and-simple standard for opting out of electronic communications, as part of the upcoming Regulation F rules.
LIMITATION
PaymentVision does not provide a mechanism, as part of this release, to opt back in once opted out. We plan to address this limitation as part of a future release.
